 Programs and Events

We are the ideal learners! We love being in a classroom. However, many of us are the facilitators, and sometimes, we want to be in the student’s seat, too. This chapter offers you the chance to learn, develop, and obtain job aids and resources as a student in the profession.

 Cutting Edge Thinking

This chapter continues to receive awards and recognitions because of its collaborative spirit that in turn brings more value to your membership. Some recent examples of this include the creation of the WLP Awards, now in its 4th year, Remodeling of Career Day, and bringing Daniel Pink to Des Moines to speak!

 Being a Part of Something Bigger than Ourselves

This chapter also needs people like you: creative and inspiring, diligent and caring – people who love learning for learning’s sake. Become involved in large ways by seeking a board position or active committee role, and if you’re too busy for that, there is a great need for the many small details that make a tremendous difference. Volunteer to tweet about an event, write a blog post, photograph an event, design a flier or postcard…the options are endless and your ideas are encouraged.

It’s members like you who make the difference. Thank you for your dedication to the profession, to your goals, and to your fellow members of this chapter.
